Important definitions and formulas for Physics_AS

These are extremely important points which you must know. These all points will be covered in two posts. Note them.
)SI unit_ a system of units internationally accepted.
)Base unit_ units for basic physical quantities.
)Dimensions_relationship between physical and derived quantities.
)Unit for young modulus_kgm^-1s^-2.
)Reading_ single determination of the value of an unknown quantity.
)Measurement_ Final result of analysis of series of readings.
)Moment of force_ turning effect of force or torque.
)Couple_ consists of two forces acting on an object of same magnitude but not in the same line.
)Centre of gravity_ where the weight of an object is assumed to act.
)One Newton_ It is defined as a force when which acts of a body of mass, m, produces an acceleration of 1m/s.
)Formula for pressure on the wall_ P=pv^2, (p=density)
)Work done = Fs cos0 (0= theta).
)One joule_ it’s the work done by a force of 1 newton when its point of application is displaced a distance of 1m in direction of force.Next post covering other points will be published shortly on the blog.
