Out for humanity!!!!!

Well it finally got started!I was not expecting it, but thanks to mother and my close relative who made it possible. About a month had passed in fun and very little work. And another month lay ahead of me with no idea of what to do.



It was not about 30 hour voluntary service you need for Duke of Edinburgh award, i already was done with that. It was about getting out of house and doing something, to learn, to help, to serve humanity voluntarily. But i was like a blind who needed some help! And so i got the help and crossed the wide gap ready for the task with eyes bestowed once again!



My social service was to be in civil hospital, it was my first day, all the things which some well known and other people had instructed me were in my mind. I reached there half an hour earlier. So had to wait for that time and a further 1 hour for waiting the person who would tell me the work, Mr.Sajid. He didn't come but fortunately i found my uncle there(working as a senior assistant prof.), he supervised me to the Dowites78 operation theatre or O.T as we call it.
I went inside the first operation theatre or lobby where i had to meet Dr.Riffat, an anaesthesiologist.

A patient was lying on the bed and the doctor was trying something with some apparatus which later the doctor told me was anaesthetic machine when i asked her. I continued to watch the things carefully and understand the procedures. The operation started, firstly reluctant, i later had the courage to watch the surgery, i saw the tools and some of the techniques. During operation the doctor called me and told me about the gigantic anaesthetic machine that was of multi-purpose. Operation lasted for more than 3 hours.

I came back down where i met him and told him about my activities. I headed back towards my home quite happy because a good 1st day and a plan of learning more next day!!!

Learn IV canulation__ for pre-medical students

1. Assemble all the equipment required:
Gloves
Sharps bin
2. Prime 3 way tap and extension with saline:
3. Explain to the patient what you intend to do and why. Obtain verbal consent.
4. Tighten a tourniquet around he appropriate limb and identify an appropriate vein:
5. Clean the insertion site with the alcohol wipe:
6. Infiltrate the insertion site with local anaesthetic:
7. Hold the cannula so that you will be able to see blood entering the transparent flashback chamber. Keep the bevel facing upwards. Stretch the skin with the thumb of your non-dominant hand.
8. Insert the cannula, aiming for the vein, until you get a flashback of blood
9. Insert the cannula slightly further - remember that the plastic sleeve of the cannula does not extend right to the tip of the trocar:
10. Hold the trocar still with your dominant hand and slide the plastic cannula forward with your other hand
11. Compress the vein over the tip of the cannula to prevent blood entering the cannula, withdraw the trocar and dispose of it immediately in the sharps bin.
12. Continue to compress the vein and connect the extension tubing
13. Secure the cannula in place with a transparent adhesive dressing

Its fun time!

Taking your time out for some fun is indispensable. It’s the time of physical activity rather than bogging up of your mind in work.

Fun can be of any sort, playing football, cricket, badminton, going for swimming or outing with the friends or family members, the latter most possible in the holidays. It’s the ultimate fun time when we move on to the water parks, voluminous clubs, parks and to the beach points.

So we decided and went to Shaheed Nisar park mainly because of my aunt who insisted on going there. Now searching for the destination was another story! We wandered in the defense area of our city (Karachi) for about half an hour following my aunt car and than we got stuck in a traffic signal & our aunt got out of our sight, my elder brother called her trying to ask where they were, but all to no use, we took several wrong cuts, after that I decided to move to the park by myself taking help from the some people who were moving about the road. Finally I was successful! Me and my family reached before my aunt and for that I teased her when she came a little later.

I entered the park with all other people with me. It quite nice park with wide jogging tracks, clean grass fields, games for kids and playing area for us. I can say that we did enjoy there especially because my family and cousins were there and the delicious cuisines we ate in the end.

We retuned home very tired yet happy!

Bear in mind that these just highlight important points or the points i thought to be important for math __P-1. Before going through these be confident that you are already prepared. In addition these points will help you in achieving better marks in exam papers. These points also cover some of the points sometimes we just ignore but are important. 3)Rational and irrational numbers constitute real numbers.

4)Surds___ numbers in root form…(cube root, square root)

5)Rationalizing surd__ Removing surd from denominator

6)Range__f(x), domain__ values of x.

7)Modulus__[x]=x or [x]= -x

8)If (b^2) - 4ac >0_____ it will have two real roots

9)If (b^2) - 4ac <0_____>

10)If (b^2) - 4ac =0_____it will have equal roots or one root only.

11)Division or multiplication of an inequality by negative number changes the sign.(- to + or vice versa)

12)tan (angle)= gradient of a line, subtract the gradient of the given 2 lines and use formula to find the angle between the two lines.

13)For arithmetic progression, Sn=0.5n(a+l) or Sn=0.5n(2a+(n-1)d)

14)For geometric progression, Sn=a(1-r^n)/1-r and sum to infinity=a/1-r

15)Infinite geometric series is said to be convergent if [r]<1.

16)Note surface area and volume of cylinder, sphere, cone, pyramid and prism. These are important….. You must remember them.

17)Term independent of x__ take x^0

18)No term in x^2____take 0x^2.
